【IAA】Please Comment BY 19 JAN 2024: IAA paper - Actuarial Considerations Around Climate-Related Risks on Social Security

This is the seventh of a series of papers being developed by the IAA Climate Risk Task Force as a deliverable in the Statement of Intent for IAA Activities on Climate-related Risks (SOI) adopted by the IAA Council on 7 May 2020. The previous papers published in this series are available on the IAA website at Climate Issues (actuaries.org).

One last internal paper is expected in the series: a paper on the review of existing IAA publications (some of the ISAPs, IAN 100 and the Risk Book) to identify and address any climate risk related gaps.

If you are receiving this ED as an FMA Liaison to the IAA Climate Risk Task Force or a delegate representing your association in any one or more of the committees or forums addressed in this e-mail, we request, that in addition to reviewing it yourself, you share the ED with your home association, especially with those engaged in climate-related risk management and social security practitioners, to review and provide coordinated feedback from your association’s perspective. This will be your association’s only opportunity to comment on the ED.

Please note that this time no separate Glossary accompanies this paper, i.e. no change is proposed to the existing Glossary.

You are kindly requested to use the Comment Template provided with this e-mail to provide your feedback (do not insert comments into the ED itself).

Please e-mail your comments to climaterisk.comments@actuaries.org.

We look forward to receiving your feedback as soon as possible, but no later than 19 January 2024.

Feel free to contact Amali Seneviratne at the IAA Secretariat (amali.seneviratne@actuaries.org) if you have any questions.
